I turned the Summer Reading Program pictures in to the El Dorado Times today. I was told they might be in next Thursday's edition. Check back here, Library Kids, the library's Twitter page, or on Facebook for the latest update.

The beginning of the end

Starting today, Summer Reading Program members can bring in their completed Activity sheets and Timed Reading sheets for their final prize! The last day to do this is August 8th, but don't wait until the last minute!!
Just a reminder...picture days are August 1st and August 8th.

The K-5th program today at 2:00 is all about PIRATES!! Come to the Clymer room and join the fun!!

Give a HOOT today, and come to the movie!

We are showing the movie "HOOT" today at 2:00. It is rated PR with a run time of 90 minutes. All ages welcome!

Twice the FUN, TODAY!!!

The K-5th grade program is today at 2:00, in the Clymer room. Burrowing creatures is the theme.

Then, this evening at 6:00, the Clement McCrae Puppets will be here with a fun show for all ages! It is billed as the Greatest Show on Strings! 

The show will last about 45 minutes.

Children under the age of seven must be accompanied by an adult while at the library.

summer update

Oh my goodness it has been so long since I have posted here at Shelf Monkeys! I have been busy with our Children's department webpage, Library Kids, and busy with the Summer Reading Program, which is well under way.
It is open to anyone from birth through fifth grade. If you have finished sixth grade you can participate in the Teen Program upstairs. There is even a program for adults!

There is plenty of time to sign up for this year's programs and start earning prizes!

On Tuesdays, at 2:00 we have programs for elementary ages, Wednesdays at 2:00 we present a movie for all ages. Preschool Story Time is at 10:00 and at 11:00 on Thursday mornings. It is for ages 3-5 years old.

If you haven't been to the library for awhile, come by and see what's new!!

Make and Take, Today!

Drop by the Clymer room today anytime  from 4:00 to 6:00 and make a cute kite magnet! This program is for all ages.

Spring Break Activities

There are 3 programs this week in addition to the regular Preschool Story Time, which is Thursday, March 21, at 10:00!

Tuesday, March 19th, kids from 4 -11 years of age can come to the library to play Life Sized Candy Land! It will be a “sweet” experience! The game starts at 2:00, so don’t be late.

Wednesday, March 20th, is an interactive showing of the movie, “Beauty and the Beast“All ages are welcome to come and participate with the movie!Singing, cheering, booing, and more! Screening is at 2:00, in the Clymer room.

Thursday, March 21, is a belated Happy Birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss. His birthday was March 2nd, but the weather did not cooperate. We couldn’t let his birthday go by unnoticed, so the party was rescheduled for Spring Break! It starts at 2:00 and is for kids aged 4 -11 years.
Please plan to join us and bring a friend!

Carnegie Library Centennial Open House

This Sunday, December 2, 1021, marks the 100th anniversary of the Carnegie Library building here in El Dorado. In honor of this anniversary there is an open house from 2:30 to 4:30, Sunday, December 2nd, at the Carnegie Library building, 101 S. Star. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Bradford Memorial Library and PKHLS Architecture.

Let's go to the Movies!!!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 20, Brianne is showing "Madagascar 3" at 4:00, in the Clymer room. This is open to all ages and is FREE! This movie is rated PG for mild action and rude humor. Run time is 93 minutes. See you there!!!

Thanksgiving Holiday hours

Just a reminder. The library will close at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22. We are closed Thanskgiving day and Friday, November 23. The library will be open for regular hours, 9:00 to 5:00, on Saturday, November 24.

Story Time Time!

Preschool Story Time will begin the Fall session this Thursday, September 6, at 10:00. Preschool Story Time is for kids ages 3-5. It lasts about 30 minutes. Please join us in the Clymer room and bring a friend!

Summer Reading Program pictures are in the Tuesday, August 21, 2012, edition of the El Dorado Times ! Get your copy TODAY!!! YAY!! Congratulations to all of you awesome readers!

ONE WEEK LEFT

There is only one week left in the Summer Reading Program. The last day to turn in your papers is Thurdsay, August 9th. That is also a picture day. If you have finished both June's and July's activity sheets and the star chart, you are eligible to get your picture in the paper! But, you must have it all in by August 9th.
We are taking pictures today as well. The library is open until 8 PM today so there is still time to come in. 
You can pick up prizes you have earned anytime the library is open from now til August 9th.
The drawings for the stars and the dreamcatcher will be on August 10th.
